| History: |
European Airlines (EAL) was
formed in October 1991 by ex-TEA staff with support of ING Lease to
provide charter services from its Brussels base with a fleet of three
B737-300. Ad hoc charters started during December with a single ex TEA
B737, by May 1992 accompanied by three A300. The B737 was wet leased to
Airlanka between March and July 1992 and already disposed of during
October 1992. The Airbuses were often wet leased to third parties like
Air India, Tunis Air, PIA and Caribjet. In the summer of 1994 a holiday
charter program to Mediterranean resorts was launched. During 1995 ING
Lease decided to withdrawn from aviation business resulting in the
closure of EAL on October 31, 1995. |
