Scandinavian Airlines System was
founded on August 1, 1946 when the flag carriers of Denmark, Sweden and
Norway formed a partnership to handle intercontinental traffic to
Scandinavia. Operations began on September 17, 1946 and in 1948
operations finally merged to form the current SAS Consortium in 1951. |
